Eine Furt über Guoptjejukke

Expedition Vindelfjällen

A week long ride out of the ordinary! During 6 days we travel about 120 km across intact mountains. Lodging in cots with open fire.
The food will be prepared of raw materials which the settled country produces. You will have opportunity of fishing char and salmon trout.
Expedition Vindelfjällen leaves even weeks with start week 28, 30, 34 and 36.

Programme

Monday: Arrival in Ammarnäs for common lunch. After lunch we go through outfit and way and pack the personal outfit into pack-rolls (which you will borrow from Fjällhästen). Then we pick out horses and make ready for start towards the destination of the first stage, Fjällhästen´s yard in Tjaskal, an 8 km ride.


Tuesday:
From Tjaskal up on the bare mountain. We ride northwest along Stuore Jåppe. Below is the protective area of birds, Marsivagge.There is a lot of arctic birds and sometimes the golden eagle appears. After about 20 km we reach Lule Skeblejaure and Fjällhästen’s cot.


Wednesday:
We ride westward towards the swedish-norwegian mountain chain, Skanderna. After ca 20 km we reach reached Dukkejaur, where we stay the night in our cot.


Thursday
: The horses take us eastward across Vindelälven to Björkfjället. If the visibility is good, we can look far away into Norway. We travel approximately 24 km across the smooth and friendly mountain where you can try to ride in ”tölt”, (tölt is the Icelandic horse's fourth pace) to our cot.


Friday: We continue across the wide plateau's of Björkfjället, to our cot at Båsatjaure, 1000 metres above sea level. During the 20 km's ride, we have tried both "tölt" and some gallops.


Saturday: Today we leave the mountains and set course for Ammarnäs. Lunch is served at Biergenis fields where we in person can see how the modern care of the reindeer works. Back in Ammarnäs we have covered a ride of about 25 km.
After a relaxing shower and sauna we have a superb final dinner at the Ammarnäs Inn and spend the night at Fjällhästens hostel.


Sunday: Breakfast and home journey.


Price: 7450 SEK/person

Horse, guide, food and lodging are included in the price. Tabledrink is part of the food. Other drinks and snacks may be taken with as required.
